Ha Long
Zátoka Ha Long Bay rozhodně patří mezi největší přírodní atrakce celého Vietnamu.
Představu o její velikosti si můžete udělat představíte-li si tři tisíce čarovných ostrůvků zvedajících se ze smaragdových vod Tonkinského zálivu. V roce 1994 byla zátoka Ha Long zařazena
na seznam světového přírodního dědictví UNESCO. Zátoku Ha Long a její magickou krajinu vápencových ostrovů a ostrůvků srovnávají návštěvníci s čínským Guilinem, nebo s lokalitou Krabi v jižním Thajsku. Miniaturní ostrůvky jsou poseté plážemi a z řídce zalesněných svahů se neustále line ptačí zpěv.
Ha Long láká svými jeskyněmi
Dalším lákadlem zátoky Ha Long jsou jeskyně – některé z nich jsou kvůli turistům podmanivě osvětleny – a národní park Cat Ba. „Skutečných“ pláží na březích zátoky Ha Long je velmi málo, zatímco v zátoce Lan Ha u ostrova Cat Ba je písčitých úseků více než stovka. Zátoka Ha Long láká neutuchající proud návštěvníků po celý rok, coby největší přírodní atrakce severovýchodního Vietnamu.
Ha Long v překladu znamená: „tam, kde se drak noří do moře“.
Jako jiné památky, má zátoka Ha Long
také svou pověst. P
odle pověsti stvořil zdejší ostrůvky obrovský drak žijící v nedalekých horách – když letěl z hor k pobřeží, vyrýval do země svým ocasem údolí a rozsedliny, a jakmile se vrhl do moře, vzniklé prolákliny se zaplnily vodou, takže nad hladinou zůstaly pouze nejvýše položené oblasti.
Zajímavosti a aktivity zátoky Ha Long:
Hang Dau Go ( Jeskyně dřevěných kůlů ) – rozlehlá sluj tvořená třemi podzemními sály. Vietnamský název jeskyně se vztahuje ke třetímu sálu, který údajně ve 13. století sloužil jako skladiště ostrých bambusových kůlů. Ze všech jeskyní je tato situována nejblíže k pevninvě.
Hang Thien Cung je součástí komplexu, kde jsou kromě stalaktitů a stalagmitů k vidění také vápencové „výrůstky“ připomínající paličky květáku.
Hang Sung Sot patří mezi nejčastěji navštěvované jeskyně. Rozkládá se rovněž ze tří 
sálů. Ke vchodu do jeskyně vede příkré schodiště, samotná sluj je však průchozí a druhým koncem se vrátíte zpátky na břeh zátoky. Nedaleko se nachází další jeskyně Hang Bo Nau.
Hang Trong
neboli Jeskyně
bubnů, jehož název byl pojmenován podle vzdáleného zvuku bubnů, který návštěvníci slýchají, když se mezi stalaktity a stalagmity prohání vítr.
Dao Tuan Chau – ostrov Tuan Chau je jedním z mála zdejších ostrovů zasažených turistickým ruchem, leží 5km západně od Bai Chay. Po dlouhé době se ubytovávalo v bývalém letním sídle Ho Či Mina. Dnes je tomu úplně jinak, z ostrova se postupně stává mezinárodní rekreační areál Tuan Chau.
